The Walk-On’s Journey: From Passion to Nationwide Growth

The Walk-On’s story begins on a napkin. Two LSU basketball walk-ons, who had already earned their spot on the team, saw the potential in bringing some of the best restaurants and sports bar concepts in the country to their own Baton Rouge, LA.

As Brandon Landry and Jack Warner flew back from an away game, they sketched out how that Baton Rouge vision could look. Brandon and Jack took this vision and applied what they’d learned on the court – hard work, dedication, and a passion for excellence – to make that vision a reality.

When they opened the first Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar on September 9, 2003, right next to LSU’s Tiger Stadium, they knew their concept built on culture and inclusivity was destined for greatness. That greatness came with even more hard work and a love for the game, earning Walk-On’s the title of ESPN’s #1 Sports Bar in America, signing new Co-Owner Drew Brees, founding Walk-On’s Game On Foundation, and snatching the #1 brand spot in Entrepreneur’s 2020 top New Franchise ranking.

Now, more than 20 years in, Walk-On’s isn’t slowing down. With over 75 locations and more in development, we’re committed to bringing our love for the game to every neighborhood across the country with a cuisine, culture, and community that’s always fun, never forced, and open to everyone.
